Stuart is a champion hiking dog in the making. He is a hardy, athletic young dog who could easily sport a backpack and accompany his handler on treks through the woods, camping excursions and winter walks. He enjoys daily obedience training, playing with toys, and romping in a fenced in area. Stuart came from a situation in which he received little human interaction during the first months of his life. As a result, he is just now learning proper manners and canine etiquette. Despite his late start, Stuart is not only showing daily improvement, but also a true love of learning and desire to please. He is trained on a Gentle Leader head collar and he responds to basic voice commands and hand signals. He is playful with other dogs and may do well in a home with another dog of a similar size and activity level.

Stuart is in foster care where he is learning the basics of life in a home! He is working on housetraining, crate training, greeting visitors politely, riding in a car and cohabitating with kids and other animals. He is mastering basic commands such as sit, down, stay, come, heel, out, and kennel. Stuart is currently living with 5 other dogs of various ages and sizes, three cats, and two teenage boys whom he ADORES! His foster mom describes him as a goofy, carefree dog who just wants to be loved and doesn’t have a single mean bone in his body.

If you would like to meet Stuart please call (802) 476-3811 X109 or email dogs@cvhumane.com to set up an appointment.
