Central Vermont Humane Society

Response to complaints of animal cruelty and neglect is coordinated by county throughout the state of Vermont.  If you are concerned about an animal, you may either submit your complaint online, or call the lead agency serving your county.

CVHS serves Washington and Orange Counties by taking detailed reports of complaints and referring them to the appropriate law enforcement agencies for investigation.  This system allows the complainant to remain anonymous, though we encourage you to share your contact information as it increases the likelihood that the complaint can be thoroughly investigated.

CVHS acts as an adviser for law enforcement during animal welfare investigations.  In rare cases, CVHS may be available for on-the-ground support during companion animal welfare investigations, if invited by local law enforcement.  We also work with many of the animals seized during investigations.

Do you need to make a complaint?  Contact CVHS’s Humane Advocate at: 802-476-3811 x106, or advocate@cvhumane.com, or click here to make an online report.
