CVHS is gearing up for Hurricane Irene, expected in Vermont later this weekend. Our next issue of the Companion Connection is set to go to print this Monday–in the thick of the storm. The content? Disaster Preparedness! We have decided to pre-release this issue online to help our community understand disaster preparedness for animals, and plan ahead for their own pets. Please read it and do what you can to keep your family safe.

We currently have over 100 animals in the care of CVHS. Staff and volunteers are working hard to prepare the animal areas for potential loss of power and water. Director of Operations, Anne Ward, will be staying at the day and night until the storm is over to ensure ongoing care is available, even if parts of Route 14 are washed out again.
